Fires within buildings and structures can result in catastrophic consequences. Impex Engineering under the Thortex Fire Protection System offers a range of water based intumescent coatings for the protection of structural steelwork and internal wooden surfaces. STRUCTURAL STEELWORK
Building regulations require structural steelwork to be treated with time rated passive fire protection. The Thortex Pyro-Tech SPX water based intumescent coating will give up to 90 minutes protection.

Fire safety in all buildings is a major concern and the use of products offering low flammability or surface spread of flame are increasingly required. Thortex offers water based intumescent coatings for timber surfaces which meet these requirements and give optimum resistance to fire propagation.
LOW SMOKE SYSTEMS
Fires emitting high volumes of smoke are a major problem, particularly in underground or confined areas. Thortex systems have been developed to reduce the high volumes of smoke given off in a fire and therefore enhance evacuation. THERMAL INSULATION
Heat loss from pipes, storage tanks and vessels is normally controlled and prevented by wrapping with an insulation material. With time and due to environmental exposure such insulation and lagging materials degrade and loose their efficiency. As well as improving the fire resistance and protecting against surface spread of flame, Thortex has water based corrosion protection systems which protect against under insulation corrosion and encapsulate all types of thermal insulation materials as well as asbestos fibre.
