TOM-PAC SEALING COMPOUNDS

Tom-Pac® also manufactures a line of synthetic lubricants designed to outlast and outperform conventional mineral oil based lubricants. The focus of these advanced products is to help reduce costs related to lubricant consumption and premature bearing and machinery failure due to poor lubrication.

Mechanical Sealing Compounds

Tom-Pac® Sealing Compounds are flexible lubricated compounds designed to seal rotating or reciprocating equipment by replacing braided packing and mechanical seals. Applications include pumps, mixers, agitators, valves and most places where braided packing is currently being used.

Sealing Compounds are currently available in 3 styles to meet almost all possible application requirements:

TP-4000 Sealing Compound

TP-4000 Aragraphe™ Fiber Mechanical Sealing Compound will seal most rotating or reciprocating equipment. Self-lubricating and self-cooling, TP-4000 needs no seal or cooling water. Flush systems are eliminated and pumps operate with zero leakage. Maintenance is simple with our online injection systems . TP-4000 will also seal valves the first time for the last time. Its special blend of lubricants will not dry or harden over long periods of time, leaving valves well sealed and easy to open.

TP-4000 is not recommended for pulp mill black liquor, lime slurries, polar petroleum distillates, nitric acid and with brass or bronze shaft sleeves.

TP-5400 Sealing Compound

TP-5400 Sealing Compound is chemically inactive within a wide pH range. It can safely be used to handle all food applications. TP-5400 complies with all USDA regulations. Its whitish color makes it ideal for installations where a light color material is desirable, such as fine paper applications. TP-5400 is also recommended for use in applications that have brass or bronze shaft sleeves.

Like TP-4000 , TP-5400 will seal most rotating or reciprocating equipment. It is easy to install and the only maintenance required is small additions of compound, after long intervals. This procedure can be performed on-line, without having to shut down the equipment.

TP-5400 can also seal valves the first time for the last time. It will not crack or harden, so valves are always easy to turn.

TP-4800 Sealing Compound

TP-4800 Black Maxx is a Full Spectrum Sealing Compound with a pH range of 0 to 14 for total chemical resistance. TP-4800 is ideal for chemicals and pulp mill black liquor.

Just as TP-4000 and TP-5400 , TP-4800 Black Maxx is injectable on-line for no downtime maintenance. It will not dry or harden. It is self-lubricating and self-cooling. It will perform as efficiently as a mechanical seal, with no moving parts and with no seal water.

On-line Injection Systems

What is On-Line Injection?
On-Line Injection is a means by which pumps and other equipment can be maintained without having to shut down. It is a simple procedure performed while the equipment is running. In just a few seconds additional compound is injected in the stuffing box to regain zero leakage.

What advantages does On-Line Injection offer?
The main advantage to injection is no downtime. Pumps can be re-sealed on the run. Gland followers are never adjusted. Zero leakage is maintained with the simple turn of a handle. On-line Injection is quick and reliable.

Tom-Pac® offers two loaders for all you sealing needs:

TP-8100 Linear Loader

TP-8100 Linear Loader is specifically designed for smaller pumps. Although permanent mounting is recommended, TP-8100 can be used from pump to pump. It has a capacity of 25ml.

Tom-Pac® Sealing Compounds are designed to flow in an open smooth bore passage but resist extrusion when in a stuffing box. The chosen compound is injected directly into the stuffing box, via the existing seal water port. If no port exist, one can easily be drilled and tapped.

By maintaining zero leakage, equipment performance becomes more predictable, safety and environmental controls are greatly enhanced and the user benefits from increased plant up-time, improved monitoring and minimal maintenance.

TP-8100 Linear Loader is recommended when using TP-4800 Black Maxx Sealing Compound

TP-8200 Linear Loader
TP-8200 Linear Loader is a larger injector which is best suited for larger shaft diameter and deeper stuffing boxes. It is used in the same way as TP-8100 . Adjust the gland follower once, then simply turn a handle to re-seal equipment (pumps, agitators, etc.) On-Line with no downtime. Linear Loading is simple and reliable.
