High Compression Gasketing and Packing

KLOZEAL PACKING

A complete line of high performance, high compression packing designed to seal and protect any type of surface and machinery.

Types of Soft Packing Construction:

Braid-Over-Braid

Formed by one or more covers of braided yarns over a core of braided, twisted or homogeneous materials into round construction. May be calendered square or rectangular into a dense, highly lubricated packing for low speed and high pressure applications.
Cross Braid

Strands of yarn cross the surface diagonally, interlocking to form a dense, yet flexible structure, that cannot unravel in service. Lubrication of individual strands in the braiding process provides a more uniform distribution of anti-friction materials and yarn density for increased life of packing.
Twisted

Strands of yarn are twisted in the same running direction to the required round size. Only recommended for low speed, low pressure utility use where packing space is small or where available cross-section is larger than required packing space.
The individual strands are easily removed to fit emergency requirements
Square Braid

Strands of yarn cross over and under other strands in the same running direction, and produce square cross sections. Other names for this construction are Square, Plaited or Flax Braid. Normally specified for high speed rotary service at low pressure.
Plastic

Lubricated plastic packings contain oil, fiber materials, graphite, grease, or mica. The usual form is square within a cotton jacket for handling, asbestos jacket for retention in the stuffing box. The normal application is sealing gases or where packing must supply part of or all required lubrication.
Metallic

Metal packings of lead, copper, aluminum foil or ribbon is spirally wrapped, folded or twisted into square or rectangular cross-section. Normal use is high pressure, high temperature service and corrosive fluids.
Laminated

Coils, Spirals or Rings are cut from molded slabs of fabric and rubber materials. This construction is normally used for the liquid end of reciprocating rams or pump pistons.
Wrapped

Constructed from rubber impregnated fabric materials rolled or calendered into square or rectangular cross-section, or over homogeneous core for high resiliance. Typical use is in applications with high lateral movement in the equipment.
